About Role:

We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and proactive 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a great school in Maghull starting in January 2026. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the life of a young person, providing tailored academic and emotional support within a secondary school setting.

1:1 Teaching Assistant

  • Pay: Paid to scale
  • Hours: – 8:30 am – 3:30 pm
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with a specific student to support their learning and progress across the curriculum.
  • Assist with adapting lesson materials to meet the student’s individual needs.
  • Promote student engagement, confidence, and independence.
  • Liaise effectively with teachers, SENCO, and parents/carers.
  • Support the delivery of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour
  • The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with young people in an education setting, particularly those with additional learning needs, is desirable.
  • Patient, empathetic, and adaptable
  • Able to work collaboratively with staff
  • A relevant qualification ( Teaching Assistant or equivalent) is an advantage.
  • To be eligible:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
  • Provide two professional references/cover the last 2 years
