Prospero Teaching are working with an outstanding Primary School in Newcastle who are looking for an experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work with pupils in Key Stage 2. This role is to start from January 2025 for the rest of the academic year. This role is for the full academic year with the strong possibility of the role becoming permanent for the appropriate candidate. Pay rate is negotiable depending on experience. The role will involve supporting pupils with their learning on a 1:1 basis, so the successful candidate will need to be a resilient practitioner and have excellent relationship-building skills. The school is a brilliantly supportive, inspiring, and enjoyable environment for both students and staff. This is a role that will give you the opportunity to make a positive difference to the lives of children every day. This role will involve: · Supporting a pupil with SEN and challenging behaviour on a 1:1 basis. · Managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive and consistent manner. · Building and maintaining positive relationships with Class Teachers to support the pupil and discuss/implement strategies and learning activities to promote pupil progress. · Preparing resources for learning activities and lessons. · Supervising pupils at break times and lunch times as required. · Having a “hands on” approach to supporting the pupils in their learning, with a willingness to interact, engage and form a positive rapport with the pupil. · Liaising with parents and outside agencies to discuss progress as required. This role requires: · An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you) · a recognised Childcare-based qualification. · An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff. · A resilient, proactive, and positive nature · Experience of supporting pupils in a School setting. · Ideally experience of 1:1 Support within a School setting · High levels of enthusiasm, energy and positivity when working with pupils. · A genuine passion for supporting young people to fulfil their potential and flourish in education. · An enthusiastic approach and a willingness to engage with and form positive relationships with pupils.
