We are seeking a caring, patient and enthusiastic 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to work with a Year 5 boy at a friendly and nurturing prep school in SW12. This role involves providing individual support throughout the school day, helping the pupil to access the curriculum, remain engaged in lessons and achieve his full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil.
- Adapt and differentiate classwork to meet the child's individual learning needs.
- Support engagement, organisation and participation within the classroom.
- Work closely with teaching staff and the SEN team to implement support strategies.
- Encourage independence, confidence and positive learning behaviours.
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to relevant staff.
Requirements:
- Experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within an educational setting.
- Understanding of additional learning needs and the ability to adapt learning materials.
- Patient, proactive and nurturing approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Hours: Monday to Friday 10:00am - 1:00pm. Due to the child's needs, there is potential for the role and hours to increase over time.
