We are seeking a dedicated, resilient, and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a KS1 boy with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and social, emotional, and behavioural needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a positive difference in a child's educational journey by providing consistent, personalised support in a nurturing school environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day.
  • Build a positive, trusting relationship with the pupil to promote engagement and emotional wellbeing.
  • Support the implementation of individual learning and behaviour support plans.
  • Use positive behaviour support strategies to help the pupil regulate emotions and manage challenging behaviour safely.
  • Encourage communication, social interaction, independence, and confidence.
  • Work closely with teachers, the SENCO, parents/carers, and external professionals to ensure a consistent approach.
  • Record observations, monitor progress, and contribute to review meetings where appropriate.
  • Help create a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
  • Experience supporting children who display behaviours that challenge.
  • A calm, patient, and understanding approach.
