Secondary English and Literacy Tutor - Runcorn Location: Runcorn Hours: 5-15 hours per week Start Date: November 2026 Duration: Ongoing Prospero Teaching is looking for an experienced English Tutor to provide additional literacy and academic support to secondary-age learners. The role will involve delivering engaging tuition to help pupils improve their reading, writing and comprehension skills. Key Responsibilities: Deliver tailored English tuition to secondary-age pupils. Support reading comprehension, spelling, grammar and written expression. Help learners prepare for GCSE English where appropriate. Identify areas for development and plan targeted sessions. Build confidence and encourage positive engagement with learning. Experience, Training and Qualifications: Strong knowledge of the secondary English curriculum. Experience teaching or tutoring English. QTS, PGCE or equivalent qualification desirable. Experience supporting pupils with literacy gaps. A patient and adaptable approach to teaching. Essential Requirements: Right to work in the UK. Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain the required clearance. Two professional references.
