Teacher of Design & Technology
Prospero Teaching is working with a well-established secondary school in Southampton to recruit an enthusiastic and creative Design & Technology Teacher specialising in Product Design for a maternity cover position starting in January 2027.

The Role:
- Teach Design & Technology with a focus on Product Design
- Deliver engaging and practical lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Plan, prepare, and assess student work in line with curriculum expectations
- Support students in developing design, manufacturing, and problem-solving skills
- Make use of modern workshop facilities and CAD technologies
- Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback
- Contribute to departmental planning and curriculum development
- Promote high standards of behaviour, engagement, and achievement
- Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently

- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Specialism in Product Design or a related Design & Technology discipline

Contract Details:
- Position: Teacher of Design & Technology (Product Design)

- Contract Type: Fixed-Term Maternity Cover
- Duration: January-May 2027 or January-July 2027
- Working Pattern: Full-time or 0.8 considered
- Pay Rate: £34,069 - £52,835 per annum
- Key Stages: KS3 & KS4
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:
- QTS required
- Product Design or Design & Technology teaching experience preferred
- ECTs encouraged to apply
- Safeguarding training can be provided
- Enhanced DBS required
