Learning Support Assistant (LSA) - SEND & Inclusion Room

Our client, a secondary school with a strong commitment to inclusion, is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to provide support across its SEND provision and Inclusion Room.

This role is suited to someone who can build positive working relationships with young people, maintain high expectations, and provide consistent support to students who require additional help to access learning.

The Inclusion Room offers a structured environment for students requiring short-term intervention, academic support, or assistance with reintegration into mainstream lessons.

Alongside this, you will work with students who have SEND, supporting individual learning plans and helping them engage successfully in school life.

Key responsibilities include

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support for students with additional needs.
  • Delivering targeted interventions in literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum areas.
  • Supporting students within the Inclusion Room and during reintegration into lessons.
  • Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff and the SEND team.
  • Monitoring progress and contributing to support plans and reviews.

The successful candidate will

  • Have experience working with children or young people.
  • Understand the importance of consistency, patience and clear communication.
  • Be confident supporting students with a range of additional needs.
  • Work effectively as part of a wider school team.
  • Be committed to helping students overcome barriers to learning.

This is an opportunity to join a school where inclusion is a central part of its ethos and where support staff play a significant role in improving outcomes for young people.
