About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and compassionate SEN Teacher to join a well-supported specialist provision in Halifax. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled practitioner who is passionate about transforming the lives of children with a range of Special Educational Needs, including Autism, SEMH, ADHD, SpLD, and complex learning profiles. The role is available for an immediate start; however, we also welcome applications from candidates seeking to begin in September.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality, differentiated lessons tailored to the needs of SEN learners.
- Create a nurturing, structured, and engaging classroom environment that promotes independence, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour.
- Develop and implement personalised learning plans, EHCP targets, and behaviour support strategies.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, external professionals, and parents/carers to support holistic pupil development.
- Use creative, therapeutic, and multi-sensory approaches to help pupils re-engage with learning and achieve meaningful progress.
- Contribute to the wider school community, supporting whole-school initiatives and maintaining strong safeguarding practices.
About You
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) essential.
- Experience working with pupils with SEN or SEMH needs (mainstream or specialist settings).
- Strong behaviour management skills using positive, trauma and relationship approaches.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and adaptability.
- Passionate about inclusive education and committed to helping every learner succeed.
