SEN Teaching Assistant
Edmonton, London Borough of Enfield | Β£100-115 per day, depending on relevant experience
Full-time, long-term temporary; Monday to Friday, term time

Prospero Teaching is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant in Edmonton, Enfield, to help primary pupils with additional needs participate in classroom learning. You will support children who need help with communication, attention or understanding tasks. The emphasis is on practical classroom support, predictable routines and building skills pupils can use independently.
Your responsibilities
- Support pupils with autism, ADHD or speech and language needs during lessons.
- Break activities into short steps and check understanding without overprompting.
- Reinforce teacher-planned literacy, numeracy and language activities.
- Help pupils take part in group work and manage classroom transitions.
- Keep clear observations and share progress with the teacher and SENCO.
What you will need
- UK school experience as a teaching assistant or learning support assistant.
- Experience supporting children with SEND in a classroom environment.
- Clear communication and the ability to use agreed strategies consistently.
Experience delivering targeted interventions or supporting an EHCP is desirable. Relevant autism or communication training would be useful.
