Maths Teacher
Prospero Teaching is working with a secondary school in the Brighton area to recruit a qualified and enthusiastic Maths Teacher (QTS) for a maternity cover position starting in January.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive Maths department within a well-established secondary school. The role is available on a 4-day-per-week basis and will involve full teaching responsibilities, including planning, preparation, marking, and assessment.
The school is looking for a teacher who can deliver engaging and challenging Maths lessons, maintain high expectations in the classroom, and support students in making strong academic progress.
The Role:
- Teach Mathematics across KS3 and KS4
- Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons
- Take full responsibility for planning, marking, and assessment
- Monitor pupil progress and provide constructive feedback
- Support students of varying abilities to achieve their potential
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and engagement
- Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Maths department
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently
Ideal Candidate:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics
- Experience teaching Maths at secondary level
- Confident planning and delivering high-quality lessons
- Effective classroom and behaviour management skills
- Strong communication and organisational abilities
- Committed to supporting student progress and achievement
- Suitable for experienced teachers and confident ECTs
Contract Details:
- Position: Maths Teacher (QTS)
- Location: Brighton Area
- Start Date: January
- Working Pattern: 4 days per week
- Contract Type: Maternity Cover
- Pay Rate: £32,916 - £51,047 per annum (M1-U3, pro rata)
- Key Stages: KS3 & KS4
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:
- QTS required
- Secondary Maths teaching experience preferred
- Experience with planning and assessment essential
- Safeguarding training can be provided
