Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced Year 6 Intervention Teacher to join a supportive primary school in Birmingham on a long-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced KS2 teacher who has strong Year 6 experience and excellent curriculum knowledge. Working closely with the Year 6 team, you will teach small groups of pupils and deliver focused interventions designed to close gaps in learning and accelerate progress.
The Role
- Location: Sheldon, Birmingham
- Start Date: ASAP
- Contract: Long-term
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 1:00pm
You will be responsible for:
- Teaching targeted small-group interventions across Year 6
- Identifying and addressing gaps in pupils' learning
- Supporting pupils to make accelerated progress
- Planning and delivering focused lessons based on individual and group needs
- Supporting pupils towards end-of-KS2 expectations
- Working collaboratively with the Year 6 teaching team
- Monitoring pupil progress and adapting teaching accordingly
The Successful Candidate
- Holds QTS
- Has strong previous experience teaching in Year 6
- Has excellent knowledge of the KS2 curriculum and Year 6 expectations
- Is confident delivering targeted English and Maths interventions
- Can quickly identify gaps in learning and plan appropriate next steps
- Has high expectations and a strong understanding of how to accelerate pupil progress
- Can work effectively as part of an established Year 6 team
This is a Monday-to-Friday morning role, working 8:30am - 1:00pm, making it ideal for an experienced teacher looking for a consistent part-time position while still having a significant impact on pupil outcomes.
