Help Young People Rebuild Confidence and Engagement
We're looking for a Trauma-Informed Mentor to support children and young people across West Sussex through personalised 1:1 mentoring.
Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll support learners who may have experienced significant barriers to education and require a consistent, trusted adult to help them build confidence, resilience, emotional regulation, and positive engagement.
Many of the young people we support benefit from a relationship-led approach that prioritises trust, safety, and understanding.

Location: West Sussex
Role: Trauma-Informed Mentor

Hours: Flexible
Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour

Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' experience in an educational setting, including mentoring, teaching, tutoring, learning support, teaching assistant, youth work, or similar roles
- A strong understanding of trauma-informed practice
- Experience supporting children and young people with SEND, SEMH, or additional needs is desirable
- Ability to build positive, trusting relationships
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient, resilient, and empathetic approach
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one xgikmsk
- Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally within West Sussex
