Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant for a welcoming Primary School in Calmore.

The successful 1:1 Teaching Assistant will work closely with a pupil who requires additional support to access the curriculum and engage positively within the classroom environment. The school benefits from a supportive Senior Leadership Team, experienced SEND staff and excellent resources to support pupils with a range of additional needs.
This 1:1 Teaching Assistant role would suit experienced teaching assistants, support workers, childcare professionals, graduates looking to gain classroom experience, or individuals with a passion for supporting children with additional learning needs.
Contract/Position Details:
- Location - Calmore, Southampton
- Position - 1:1 Teaching Assistant
- Type of work - Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a primary-aged pupil within the classroom and school environment
- Key Stage - EYFS, KS1 or KS2 (dependent upon placement)
- Start date - November 2026
- Duration / Likely Duration - Ongoing
- Contract type - Temporary
- Full time/Part time - Full time
- Minimum rate of pay - £95.00 per day (rate dependent on experience, training and qualifications)
- Hours - 8:30am - 3:30pm
Experience, Training & Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential
- Experience supporting children with SEND, ASD, ADHD, SEMH or speech and language needs is advantageous
- Up-to-date Safeguarding training issued within the last year is desirable (Prospero Teaching can provide this)
- Relevant xgikmsk Teaching Assistant, Childcare or Health & Social Care qualifications are desirable but not essential
- No specific teaching qualification is required for this 1:1 Teaching Assistant role
To Be Eligible For This Role Through Prospero Teaching, You Must:
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional child-related references covering the last two years
