We're looking for a talented Hybrid AV Event & Break-Fix Technician to join an on-site technical team within a major global R&D headquarters in Cambridge. If you're passionate about delivering flawless live events and keeping cutting-edge AV systems running smoothly, this is a fantastic opportunity to step into a high-profile, fast-moving environment.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting and operating AV for live events - from small meetings to full-scale auditorium productions.
- Running audio desks, cameras, streaming solutions, and professional-grade AV equipment.
- Handling pre-event setup, testing, live operation, and post-event pack-down.
- Delivering break-fix support across a large building with modern meeting spaces and specialist event rooms.
- Collaborating with on-site event teams and external production partners.
- Keeping all AV kit in top working order and ensuring end users have a smooth experience.
What We're Looking For
- Strong background in live events and AV technical support.
- Skilled with digital/analogue audio consoles (Yamaha CL/QL/M7CL/LS9).
- Experience with microphones, audio networking (Dante) and sound reinforcement.
- Confident with video switchers, projectors, matrices, and HDBaseT systems.
- Solid knowledge of VC platforms (Teams, Zoom, Cisco, Poly).
- Good general IT skills and familiarity with ServiceNow.
- A calm, solutions-focused mindset - especially when deadlines are tight.
Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)
- AVIXA CTS, Q-SYS, Crestron, Dante, Barco, audio DSP training, video production tools, networking certifications.
(On-site training is provided during onboarding.)
The Details
- 5 days a week on-site, within a shift window of 07:00-19:00 (8-hour shifts).
- Working as part of a team of four, alongside senior engineers and event specialists.
- No driving licence required.
- No on-site parking, but great bus links and cycle facilities.
