We are looking for an experienced and motivated Audio Visual Service Engineer to join our growing team based in Reading. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled engineer who enjoys fault‑finding, maintaining, and supporting a wide range of professional AV systems across commercial environments.
As an Audio Visual Service Engineer, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing installed AV solutions, ensuring customers receive exceptional technical support and a first‑class service experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, service, and repair professional audio visual systems.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) visits.
- Respond to reactive service calls and troubleshoot system faults.
- Commission replacement equipment where required.
- Provide remote technical support to customers.
- Produce accurate service reports and documentation.
- Liaise with customers to ensure work is completed efficiently and professionally.
- Work closely with the Projects and Technical teams to resolve complex issues.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company standards.
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in an Audio Visual Service Engineer or AV Installation Engineer role.
- Strong knowledge of commercial AV systems including:
- Video conferencing systems
- Digital signage
- Projectors and displays
- Audio systems
- Control systems
- Video distribution
- Experience fault‑finding and diagnosing technical issues.
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Experience with manufacturers such as Crestron, Extron, Q‑SYST, Biamp, Kramer, Logitech, Poly, Cisco, or Microsoft Teams Rooms.
- Relevant AV qualifications or manufacturer certifications.
- ECS or CSCS card.
