Role Overview

We are expanding our team and seeking a Hire Assistant to join our busy department. In this role, you will handle incoming enquiries, advise clients on equipment options, produce quotes, and manage logistics. This is an office-based position requiring your presence at our premises—no site work is involved.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to enquiries via email and phone, providing quotations and advice.
- Organise all aspects of equipment hire: specifications, logistics, and sub-hires.
- Follow up on lost or damaged items and late returns.
- Obtain quotes from suppliers and sub-hire equipment at the best price.
- Ensure invoices are accurately raised for all completed work.
About You
- Strong knowledge of event technology (AV, lighting, sound, staging, special effects).
- Experience with rental management software.
- Strong attention to detail and concentration skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to stay calm under pressure.
- Personable, supportive, and able to work effectively with colleagues and clients.
- Communicate effectively across departments.
- Suggest and implement improvements to existing processes.
- Support sales efforts and develop client relationships.
- Actively explore opportunities for new business.
- Familiarity with Current RMS or similar rental software.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation.
- First aid certification.
