About the Role
We are seeking dedicated and resilient Support Workers to join our team within a secure unit for young people aged 10-18 in Peterborough. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people who require structured support, guidance, and positive role models.
You will play a key role in creating a safe, supportive, and engaging environment while promoting the welfare and development of the young people in our care.
Key Responsibilities
- Build positive, professional relationships with young people
- Actively engage and interact with young people throughout your shift
- Encourage participation in educational, recreational, and life-skills activities
- Promote independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all young people at all times
- Maintain awareness of safeguarding procedures and follow security protocols
- Accurately record incidents, observations, and daily reports
- Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working with young people (residential, secure, youth work, SEN, or similar settings desirable)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- Flexible and reliable approach to shift work (days and waking nights)
