About the Role
We are recruiting Childrens Support Workers to work across three childrens residential homes in the Basildon area. You will be supporting vulnerable young people with mental health needs and challenging behaviours, helping to provide a safe, stable, and nurturing environment. This is a rewarding role for individuals who are passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting children and young people with emotional, behavioural, and mental health needs
- Promoting a safe, structured, and supportive living environment
- Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour in line with care plans
- Supporting daily routines, activities, and personal development
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and other professionals
- Maintaining accurate records and following safeguarding procedures
Essential Requirements
- Experience working with vulnerable children or young people
- Confidence supporting challenging behaviours
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including long days and waking nights
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Restraint training
- Experience in childrens residential care settings
