The Fire Alarms Services Engineer, reporting directly to the relevant departmental manager, will be mainly responsible for the testing, maintenance and updating of our clients' fire alarm and emergency lighting systems. Our scope of services to our clients covers the complete spectrum of fire systems installation, commissioning, service and testing, alongside supplementary services such as emergency lighting, VESDA and fire suppression systems. The role will also involve the undertaking of reactive call outs as part of our Facilities Management support function.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction for other engineers in regards to fire alarms systems.
- Conduct and report on mandatory fire alarm testing and maintenance.
- Ensure all statutory documentation for Fire Alarms and Emergency Lighting is completed, and all remedial works required are quoted and reported to the client in a timely manner.
- Oversee new designs and installations to ensure they meet building and client requirements.
- Leading fire alarm installations for large projects, which may involve managerial or supervisory responsibilities, and/or hands-on involvement with the engineering teams.
- Ensure that all work carried out meets current regulations and legislative requirements.
- Take ownership of all elements of the service delivery, including reviewing and updating procedures as required, training additional service engineers, and ensuring test equipment is fit for purpose.
- Monitor regulatory requirements, and be the first point of call for engineers, clients, helpdesk and project managers who may require advice.
- Identify training needs within the company and other ways in which to continually improve the service we deliver to our clients.
