Our Manchester office is a hub of excellence, and we are seeking a Family Law Paralegal to enhance our growing Family Law team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled and motivated professional to contribute to a dynamic team within a supportive, forward-thinking firm.
We have a strong track record of paralegals who demonstrate the necessary skills and abilities progressing to become trainee solicitors.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Family team. As a Family Law Paralegal, you will play a key role in supporting the team with contentious and non-contentious matters. You will work closely with the Family Partner, providing high-quality assistance to our clients, who range from high-net-worth individuals and professionals to large corporate entities and organisations, including the Police Federation of England & Wales.
Key Responsibilities:
Drafting documents and following court procedures.
Onboarding clients.
Assisting with court preparation, including the preparation of bundles, witness statements, applications and liaising with Chambers to instruct Counsel.
Conducting legal research and keeping up to date with changes in family law.
Managing your own caseload of non-complex matters, including Consent Orders and initial advice.
Liaising with clients, taking instructions, and providing clear and concise advice. Keeping clients updated.
Supporting the team with business development initiatives and maintaining strong client relationships.
NOTE: This job description is not exhaustive and will be subject to review. It may be amended to meet the changing needs of the business. The post-holder will be expected to participate in the process, and we would aim to reach an agreement on any changes.
About You:
The ideal candidate will be a proactive and detail-oriented professional with a passion for family law. You will have:
Knowledge of family law and court processes.
Excellent drafting and legal research skills.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong client relationships.
The ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
A recognised legal qualification (LLB, LLM, or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
