About the Role

As a Senior Support Worker, you will take a lead role in overseeing two of our specialist support services, each providing highly individualised, 24‑hour support to adults with complex needs. You will guide and mentor staff teams, uphold high‑quality practice, and ensure that each person receives consistent, compassionate, and structured support tailored to their unique profile.

One of the services supports two young males living in purpose‑built flats, each with a combination of autism, complex needs, significant sensory processing differences, and limited verbal communication. Both individuals benefit from a calm, predictable environment and highly attuned support to promote their wellbeing, safety, and independence. You will help ensure that routines are followed, communication approaches are consistent, and the environment remains low‑arousal and supportive.

The other service provides support to two adult males with autism, learning disabilities, epilepsy, and additional complex conditions. One individual is a man in his 60s with a severe learning disability, autism (ASD), OCD, and complex partial epilepsy. The other is a man in his 20s with a moderate learning disability, autism, intermittent heterotropia, and epilepsy. Both require structured, sensory‑aware support that is responsive to their emotional and communication needs.

A driving licence is desirable, as you will be required to travel between our Cheltenham and Gloucester services. The Cheltenham service is rurally located, so driving is essential for regular access.

Key Responsibilities

As the senior on shift, you will take responsibility for leading and guiding the night team, modelling best practice, and ensuring that all support plans and risk assessments are followed accurately. You will oversee the completion of essential documentation, carry out health and safety checks, and ensure clear communication between day and night teams. You will respond confidently to any incidents or changes in need, uphold safeguarding standards, and use your experience and judgement to make safe, person‑centred decisions throughout the night.
