We are looking for an Education and Training Assistant to provide personalised learning and development support for individuals with special educational needs, autism, or learning disabilities. Using a person-centered approach, the role focuses on building independence, confidence, and life skills while supporting individuals to achieve meaningful progression and enhance their quality of life.
- Deliver tailored education sessions to individuals with additional needs using a person-centered approach.
- Assess each learner’s abilities, needs and preferred learning style before planning learning activities.
- Develop individual learning plans to support personal development, independence, and life skills.
- Adapt teaching methods, materials and activities to meet different cognitive and communication needs.
- Provide one-to-one learning sessions in a supportive and safe environment.
- Use practical, visual and interactive learning techniques to improve understanding and engagement.
- Monitor learner progress and record outcomes against agreed learning goals.
- Maintain accurate records of learning activities, progress and feedback.
- Work closely with families, carers, support staff and other professionals to ensure consistent support for learners.
We believe the qualities of anyone within care are being empathetic, supportive, resilient, respectful, and courageous and that is all you will need to succeed within this role. You will be travelling between services; therefore, a Full UK Driver’s License is desirable.
- Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, or additional needs.
- Understanding of person-centered learning approaches.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit different learning needs.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and support learners to achieve their goals.
- Experience delivering life skills, independence skills, or functional learning is desirable.
- Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET/PTLLS) is desirable but not essential.
