About the Person You’ll Be Supporting & Your Role

We're looking for an enthusiastic and active Support Worker to support a friendly man in his 20s who has a learning disability, autism, and behaviours that may at times be challenging. He enjoys keeping active and has a great sense of routine, benefiting from encouragement and positive support to engage in activities and make healthy lifestyle choices. He loves swimming, going for walks, visiting the gym, and going for a coffee in the community. He also enjoys being around dogs, so you'll need to be comfortable and confident around them. Communication is unique to him and may include repeating lines from rap songs or phrases he has heard. He responds well to patient, consistent support and encouragement.

What We’re Looking For

  • Energetic, positive, and compassionate people who can motivate and encourage someone to enjoy an active and healthy lifestyle.
  • Providing reassurance and emotional support.
  • Promoting a calm and settled environment.
  • Encouraging independence where appropriate.
  • Ensuring safety and wellbeing throughout the night.
  • Monitoring and recording any incidents or concerns.
  • Completing accurate daily records and handovers.
  • Providing 1:1 support tailored to individual needs.

What We Offer

  • Comprehensive induction and specialist training
  • Clear career progression opportunities
  • Employee benefits, lifestyle savings & wellbeing support
  • 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme
  • Online counselling and GP access
  • Enhanced DBS provided

We welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds. Diversity strengthens our team, and we are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive. We are dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of adults with care and support needs and expect all staff to uphold the highest standards of professionalism. Due to the specific needs of the person we support, this position is open to female applicants only. This is a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
