We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Admin Assistant to join our fantastic team at Grange School. This is a Grade 3, permanent post working 35 hours per week, term time only plus 5 INSET days. The starting salary is £21,662 and the full-time equivalent is £25,185.

This role is based on the school reception with primary responsibility for reception duties and support for the wider admin team. The successful candidate will provide excellent customer service to colleagues, students and the wider school community.

We are looking for an outstanding candidate to join our administration team who works collaboratively to ensure that the school’s administration runs efficiently and effectively. You will be well organised, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with a range of audiences, including parents, colleagues, students and external agencies. You will have excellent ICT skills and administration skills so you can provide outstanding support to the team and school.

This is a varied and rewarding role where your attention to detail and ability to multitask will make a real impact. Reporting to the School Operations Manager.

Main responsibilities include:
  • Welcoming visitors and handling telephone, email and face-to-face enquiries
  • Providing general administrative support (photocopying, filing, data entry, correspondence)
  • Arranging meetings and taking high-quality notes
  • Maintaining school systems, records and display boards
  • Supporting school with mail distribution and stock management
  • Using ICT systems such as Word, Excel and databases
  • Helping with pupil welfare and first aid (training provided)
