We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Teacher of Design Technology and Food at Manchester Enterprise Academy (MEA). This is a permanent, full‑time position on Teaching terms MPS–UPS, starting 1st September 2026. We’re looking for a suitably qualified candidate who can consistently deliver outstanding lessons. The ideal candidate will have thorough subject knowledge, an understanding of current curriculum developments, good communication skills, and be able to plan and develop appropriate learning activities. Successful teaching experience in the relevant phase is required.

Key responsibilities

  • Promote the academic progress, wellbeing and positive behaviour of all students
  • Plan and deliver high‑quality, inclusive lessons across Design Technology and Food
  • Contribute to the development of an ambitious Design Technology and Food curriculum
  • Assess, monitor and report on progress, implementing timely interventions
  • Work collaboratively within the team to support the school’s vision
  • Reflect on and improve practice through professional development and shared expertise
  • Support curriculum development, examinations and school improvement priorities
  • Participate in meetings, duties and enrichment activities as required
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents/carers and external partners
