We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Office Manager to join our fantastic team at Piper Hill High School. This is a permanent post working 35 hours per week, term time only plus 2 weeks. The starting salary is £29,238 and the full-time equivalent is £33,143 Grade 6. The role is expected to start in September 2026.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience working within a busy administrative environment, including leading and managing a team of support staff. You will possess excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with staff, pupils, parents and external agencies. You will have a high standard of numeracy and literacy, excellent IT skills and experience of developing and maintaining effective administrative systems and procedures. The successful candidate will be proactive, adaptable and able to prioritise workloads effectively whilst maintaining high standards of accuracy and confidentiality. Experience within a school environment and knowledge of school systems and structures would be advantageous. A relevant business administration qualification and/or first aid qualification is desirable.

Main Purpose Of The Job

The Office Manager will oversee the effective delivery of administrative and operational support services across the school, ensuring efficient systems and procedures are in place to support the day‑to‑day running of the school. Working closely with the Headteacher, Senior Leadership Team, Trust colleagues and wider school staff, the post holder will lead and support the administration team, further develop information management systems and contribute to the smooth and effective operation of the school.

Key Responsibilities Will Include

  • Leading and managing the administrative support team, including staff development, performance management and day‑to‑day supervision.
  • Developing, implementing and maintaining effective administrative systems and procedures.
  • Prioritising and coordinating workloads to meet operational deadlines across the school.
  • Supporting school administration processes including pupil records, admissions, examinations and reporting.
  • Producing, maintaining and analysing administrative and operational data and reports.
  • Ensuring accuracy, confidentiality and compliance with data protection requirements.
  • Managing effective communication between school and parents, ensuring high standards of customer service.
  • Liaising with external agencies, Trust colleagues and examination boards as required.
  • Supporting recruitment and selection processes for teaching and support staff.
  • Contributing to the organisation of school events, meetings and operational activities.
  • Promoting safeguarding, equality, health and safety and the wider values of the Trust at all times.
