We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Assistant Level 4 (SEN) to join our fantastic team at Grange School. This is a permanent position working 35 hours per week, term time only plus 5 INSET days. The starting salary is £29,448 and the full-time equivalent is £34,237 Grade 6.

About the role: Grange School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, skilled and dedicated Teaching Assistant Level 4 with an Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) specialism to join our ambitious and forward-thinking team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner who is passionate about early childhood development and understands the vital importance of building strong foundations for future learning.
The successful candidate will play a key role within our EYFS provision, leading targeted groups and delivering high-quality learning experiences that support children to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed for lifelong success. Working closely with leaders and teachers, the successful candidate will help ensure that all children develop the communication, language, personal, social and academic skills necessary for a successful transition into Key Stage 1. A strong understanding of school readiness and the importance of high expectations from the earliest stages of education is essential.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide specialist support for children with SEND within the Early Years setting.
- Work closely with teachers, SEND professionals, therapists, and parents to ensure children receive appropriate interventions and support.
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate targeted learning activities and interventions.
- Support the development of communication, social, emotional, sensory, and physical skills.
- Act as a key person for identified pupils, contributing to assessments, reviews, and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Promote children's independence, confidence, and wellbeing.
- Create positive, engaging, and inclusive learning experiences that meet individual needs.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to pupil progress monitoring.
We're looking for applicants who:
- Hold a relevant Level 4 qualification or equivalent in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Early Years, SEND, or a related field.
- Have experience working with children with SEND in an Early Years or primary setting.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of child development and inclusive practice.
- Have experience supporting pupils with communication needs, autism, sensory needs, or complex learning difficulties.
- Can build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Are patient, resilient, and committed to achieving the best outcomes for every child.
- Have excellent communication, organisational, and teamwork skills.
- Are able to work independently and use initiative when required.

Grange School: The Grange School in Levenshulme, Manchester, provides 350 day places for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans, diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).
