We currently have an exciting opportunity for part time Cover Supervisors to join our team at Manchester Enterprise Academy (MEA) in Wythenshawe. The posts are permanent and part time, working 14-21 hours/2-3 days per week, term time only plus 5 INSET days. The pro-rata salary is ÂŁ9,999-ÂŁ14,999 and full time equivalent starting salary is ÂŁ29,064, Grade 5.

Main Purpose Of The Job

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning for our students by delivering pre-planned lessons during the short-term absence of teaching staff. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a classroom environment and contribute to the wider life of our school.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering engaging, pre-set lessons to whole classes
  • Managing classroom behaviour to ensure a safe and productive learning environment
  • Assessing student progress during cover lessons and updating records as required
  • Supporting students across a range of subjects and activities
  • Supporting curriculum areas and pastoral teams when not covering a lesson
  • Providing additional support to curriculum and pastoral teams

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Good literacy and numeracy skills (NVQ Level 2 or equivalent)
  • Experience working with or caring for children or young people
  • Understanding of the national curriculum and basic learning strategies
  • A calm, adaptable and positive approach to managing student behaviour
