We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Teacher of Maths to join our fantastic team at Manchester Enterprise Academy (MEA). This is a permanent, full‑time position on Teaching terms MPSUPS plus TLR 2.1 allowance of £3,527, starting September 2026.
We’re looking for a qualified teacher (QTS) with successful experience teaching within the 11-16 phase and a strong track record of delivering good or outstanding lessons. Excellent subject knowledge in Mathematics and a clear understanding of current curriculum developments are essential. The ideal candidate will be a confident and effective communicator with the ability to build strong professional relationships, possess a passion for education, and demonstrate a commitment to raising achievement and inspiring a love of learning in all students.
As a motivated and collaborative practitioner, you will demonstrate a proven ability to secure positive outcomes for students, lead, support and develop colleagues, and possess strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively. A commitment to high expectations, inclusion, and student success is crucial.
Main Purpose of the Role: In addition to the professional responsibilities common to all classroom teachers, the Lead Teacher of Maths will play a key role in raising standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement across the Mathematics curriculum. You will work closely with the Curriculum Leader to support the development and implementation of effective teaching and learning strategies, lead on intervention strategies to improve attainment and progress, monitor curriculum delivery, planning, and student outcomes, promote a positive and inclusive learning environment, and ensure high standards of assessment, recording, and reporting.
Leadership and Curriculum Responsibilities: Support and lead colleagues to enhance teaching practice and student outcomes, contribute to lesson observations, coaching, and mentoring, help identify and deliver high‑quality CPD and professional development, foster a collaborative, high‑performing team culture, support the strategic development of the Maths curriculum, and contribute to school improvement priorities and self‑evaluation.
