We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Finance Administrator to join our fantastic central team at Prospere Learning Trust.

This is a 18-month fixed-term contract, working 35 hours per week. The starting salary is £25,583 per annum (Grade 3). The expected start date is as soon as preemployment check are complete, ideally September 2026.

About the role:

As an Apprentice Finance Administrator within our Central Finance Team, you will work closely with the Finance Administrators, Finance Manager and Senior Finance Administrator to deliver high-quality financial administration across the Trust. You will play a key role in ensuring finance transactions are processed accurately, efficiently and in line with Trust financial regulations, procedures and best practice.

You'll gain valuable hands-on experience in a supportive team environment, developing practical finance and administration skills while contributing to the efficient operation of our schools.

We’re looking for: We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and motivated individual with a keen eye for detail and a genuine interest in developing a career in finance. The successful candidate will have:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Good numeracy skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
  • A commitment to achieving a professional finance qualification through the apprenticeship programme.
  • A positive attitude, willingness to learn and commitment to maintaining high professional standards.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Finance Team with the accurate processing of day-to-day financial transactions.
  • Maintaining and updating financial records and systems.
  • Raising purchase orders and processing invoices in line with the Trust's financial procedures.
  • Matching invoices to purchase orders and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Processing procurement card orders and supporting sales invoice processing.
  • Posting income transactions to the finance ledger.
  • Using the Trust's finance system to process transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensuring financial records are maintained in accordance with Trust policies and financial regulations.
  • Supporting the Finance Manager and wider finance team with projects and administrative activities as required.
  • Completing all apprenticeship training, assignments and assessments to achieve the apprenticeship standard.
