As our new policy manager, you'll play a key role in making that vision a reality. We're looking for an ambitious and talented policy professional to join our team as our colleague moves on after almost two fantastic years with Prosper.
Working closely with senior colleagues, you'll lead high-quality research and policy projects, engage with members and stakeholders from across Scotland, and help shape debate on some of the country's most important economic and social challenges. This is a rare opportunity to work at the heart of one of Scotland's leading membership organisations, bringing together diverse voices to develop practical solutions to long-term challenges and influence decision-making at the highest levels.
What you'll do:
- Help lead and deliver Prosper's policy and research programme
- Identify opportunities for new research projects and secure funding to support them
- Produce reports, consultation responses, briefings and thought leadership content
- Work with members and expert committees to develop evidence-based policy recommendations
- Support and help shape the work of Prosper's member committees
- Monitor and analyse emerging economic, social and political trends affecting Scotland
- Build relationships with policymakers, stakeholders and partner organisations
- Contribute to events, conferences and public engagement activities that strengthen Prosper's influence and impact
What we're looking for:
- An ambitious, early career professional.
- At least two years experience in policy development, research or public affairs, whether in a membership organisation, consultancy, government, political environment or in-house role
- Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to turn complex evidence into clear and persuasive recommendations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A proven ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
- A strong interest in Scotland's economic future and issues such as innovation, productivity, workforce development, sustainability, trade and inclusive growth
- A collaborative, proactive and self-motivated approach
- Degree-level education and a good understanding of Scotland's economic, civic and political landscape
- A commercial outlook and confidence engaging with members and partners
