Prosper Recruitment are working in partnership with a leading retrofit decarbonisation provider, who specialises in sustainable building and energy efficiency within the social housing sector and more recently offering solutions for commercial, public, and residential projects. They are seeking a Quantity Surveyor due to expansion, with new schemes starting in Leeds, Barnsley, Leicester, Derbyshire, and Nottingham.

Reporting into the Regional Director, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects under your control. You will manage the costs on each project whilst ensuring that the construction project is completed within its projected budget and in line with the contractual works programme.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage the Procurement of sub-contractors and suppliers on all contracts under the QS’s control.
  • Placing all sub-contract orders in line with programme requirements, ensuring best price and contract adherence are achieved.
  • Placing material orders in line with programme requirements, ensuring that all records are saved appropriately & details provided to finance.
  • Comply with all deadlines listed within the company's Commercial Timetable.
  • Provide accurate and fully detailed cashflow & revenue forecasts for all schemes under the QS’s control.
  • Ensure a cost budget for each project is produced prior to works commencing. Constantly update the cost budget for the scheme within the monthly contract CVR process.
  • Produce accurate monthly CVRs for each project, ensuring all cost heads have been reviewed for current costs and forecasted end of day costs.
  • Ensure variations to the contract are captured and agreed with clients within a timely manner.
  • Submit fully reviewed sub-contract valuations within the contractual timescales laid out in the sub-contract order.
  • Ensure client valuations are submitted in line with contract terms.

Qualifications required:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Commercial awareness
  • Proficient in IT particularly Excel
  • Ability to efficiently organise workload
  • Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team
  • Demonstrable and up-to-date technical accounting knowledge
  • Good problem-solving skills

Experience:

  • Typical 2-5 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying or similar.
  • Energy efficiency and social housing experience.

Training:

  • Full UK driving licence
