Hybrid Working Location: Head Office North West (with regional office in the Midlands); covering the North West and North Wales, West Yorkshire, and Derbyshire.

Reports to: Managing Director

Team: Manages a team of 3 direct reports: Head of Bids, Estimator, and Business Development Manager.

Role Purpose: The Business Development Director will own and drive strategic growth across defined regions (North West & North Wales, West Yorkshire, and Derbyshire). The role focuses on shaping and executing the business development strategy, overseeing the end-to-end bid process, and leading a small, capable team to secure high-value contracts with housing associations, local authorities, and aligned partners. This role balances strategic planning, relationship management, and hands-on bid leadership to deliver sustainable commercial results while embedding social value in every engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of the regional and company-wide business development strategy to secure high-value contracts in the social housing, construction, and maintenance sectors.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities with local authorities, housing associations, registered providers, and other aligned partners; translate market insight into actionable plans.
  • Develop long-term relationships with key stakeholders to enhance business opportunities.
