Prosper Recruitment are working in partnership with a long-standing, UK owned designer, manufacturer and supplier of external wall insulation, solid wall insulation and exterior systems who, due to expansion plans across the north of England, are seeking two Area Sales Managers, one for the North West and one for the North East.
Reporting into the Sales & Technical Director, you will be at the forefront of driving growth within the region. Your mission is to build strong relationships with contractors, specifiers, housing associations, Local Authorities, and installers, introducing and promoting our market-leading EWI systems by gaining specified status within tender documents and/or during the post-tender detailed design process. With a blend of business development, account management, and technical support, you will play a key role in both acquiring new projects and ensuring long-term customer success.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales & Business Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the EWI market.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including contractors, installers, architects, and specifiers.
- Achieve and exceed sales targets and KPIs.
- Ensure opportunities in all relevant sectors are explored and capitalised upon, including:
- Retrofit and decarbonisation schemes, such as WH:SHF (Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund) and WH:LG (Warm Homes: Local Grant).
- New build developments, ensuring compliance with Building Regulations.
- Recladding works to replace defective cladding, with awareness of the Building Safety Act 2022 and Building Safety Regulator due process.
- Manage and grow the existing customer base, including specifiers and specialist installers.
- Gain and hold specifications for the company's External Wall Insulation and Render Systems.
- Seek out new quality orientated specialist installer companies to join our Registered listing.
- Provide sales support to specifiers, contractors & installers.
- Provide product demonstrations and CPD presentations as required.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs.
- Maintain awareness of evolving Building Regulations, including fire safety, thermal insulation, and retrofit standards.
- Provide feedback to internal teams to support product development and marketing strategies.
- Provide support to clients throughout the project lifecycle from specification to installation.
- Liaise with internal departments to ensure technical support is geared to appropriate schemes.
- Ensure project specifications align with legislation appropriate to the scheme sector.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline, and forecasts using CRM systems and other appropriate reporting tools as required by the management team.
- Provide regular reports to management on performance and market insights as required.
Qualifications
- Full UK Driving Licence
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of EWI systems or related products.
- Awareness of Building Regulations, PAS 2030, PAS 2035, and cladding remediation legislation under the Building Safety Act 2022.
- Understanding of building regulations and energy-efficient standards.
- Familiarity with PAS 2035 roles such as Retrofit Designer.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of specification sales experience in the construction industry.
- Proven track records in field sales and business development.
- Sales experience in facades or external wall insulation.
- Working with housing associations, local authorities, or retrofit schemes.
- Experience in cladding replacement schemes.
Personal attributes:
- Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a territory effectively in line with business strategy and goals.
- Commercial awareness and a strategic thinker.
- Ability to engage at all levels.
- Strong organisation and time management skills.
