Thomas Bewick School is delighted to announce an exciting opportunity for Teaching and Learning Assistants to join the team.
Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 DfE recognised Teaching Assistant
- SEND Assistant, EYFS or Childcare qualification or higher qualification with relevant experience
Experience:
- Advancing progress of pupils of relevant age within a learning environment
- Relevant experience of working with vulnerable adults or children
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the teacher in the general management of the classroom
- Leading, as planned and directed by the teacher, with whole group, identified individuals or small groups of pupils
- Providing clerical and administrative support, e.g. marking work, reviewing learning targets etc. under the direction of the class teacher
Required Skills:
- Excellent communication and inter‑personal skills
- Able to relate well to children and adults and in particular able to establish positive relationships with pupils
- Able to respond positively and effectively to unexpected problems and situations
The successful candidate will be deployed initially at Thomas Bewick School but will be expected to work at any Prosper Learning Trust site should the need arise.
