Looking for an exciting new role to support teaching pupils with autism? Thomas Bewick School is seeking enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to join their team.
Responsibilities:- Assist in providing classroom support to pupils with special educational needs (autism)
- Ensure provision of general care and welfare by responding to the social, emotional and physical needs of pupils
- Work with teachers, speech and language therapists and other specialist staff to assist in delivering agreed programmes
- A clear understanding of the Special Needs Assistant’s role
- The ability to support the teaching of pupils with learning difficulties
- GCSEs Grade C+/4+ (or equivalent) in Maths and English

About the Trust and the School:Thomas Bewick School is a specialist provision for autistic children and young people, catering for ages 3–19 with EHCPs. The school operates across four sites in the region. The Prosper Learning Trust supports this role and many school sites within the Trust. The successful candidate will initially be deployed at Thomas Bewick School but may be deployed at other Trust sites as needed.
