The Company: A mid-sized, South London based Property & Construction Consultancy, successfully delivering projects since 1982! Their mission is to provide exceptional and sustainable construction solutions, earning their place as the consultant of choice. The company now operates from four offices across the country, with an annual turnover of £22M. Hybrid office working is available, with opportunities to work between both of their Central London & South London branches.

The Role: They are seeking a dynamic Building Surveyor, capable of taking the lead role & assisting in instructions, client management and mentoring other Assistant Surveyors and Graduates within the team, whilst ensuring clients are provided with a high-quality building surveying service! You would be part of a close-knit team comprised of 15 specialists, working across a wide range of company sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fulfilling the service role and overall lead client contact in connection with the projects.
  • Ensuring that all surveying work is in full compliance with relevant statutory requirements and regulations.
  • Developing and delivering the client requirements through a solid understanding and experience of the environment.
  • Undertaking professional work and producing reports and schedules following initial survey.
  • Ensuring that projects and invoices are billed on time, as well as assisting the financial team in the payment of aged debts.

Requirements for the Building Surveyor:

  • Degree qualified - within a construction related discipline
  • Clear & concise report writing skills
  • Good understanding in general building surveying i.e. contract administration
  • Able to meet fee targets and generate new business through building successful client relationships
  • Experience managing & mentoring teams
  • Commercial awareness and understanding
  • Embraces technology to deliver reports efficiently
  • High level of up-to-date technical building knowledge
