We are delighted to be supporting a prestigious London-based higher education institution in their search for a Deputy Academic Registrar (Data and Systems) to join their Student and Academic Services team. This is a full-time, temporary role running for up to 4 months.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced higher education professional with expertise in student data management and systems to play a strategic role in shaping services and ensuring compliance with external reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities for this role include:- Leading on the management and optimisation of the student record system (SITS) to support business processes, student administration, and reporting.
- Overseeing the preparation and submission of statutory student data returns to external agencies such as HESA and OfS.
- Ensuring robust data quality processes and providing detailed analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Managing and developing the Student Data and Management Information team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Acting as the institutional lead for student systems, providing expert advice, training, and documentation for users.
- Representing the institution at external meetings and user groups, and monitoring sector developments to ensure compliance and best practice.
- Deep understanding and experience of Higher Education Registry services.
- Substantial experience in student systems and data management within higher education.
- Extensive knowledge of statutory returns and regulatory requirements (e.g., HESA, OfS).
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience delivering data and systems projects.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders and drive change.
- High-level technical skills in student databases and related applications; experience with SITS is desirable.
- Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
