£26,000 per annum, 37 hours per week, 12 month contract
As the Community Food Growing Officer you’ll manage and deliver the new Let’s Grow Hyndburn community food growing project and help to bring the Growing Wild Community Allotment in Baxenden and Millerfold Community Allotment in Accrington back into action as productive, community food growing sites. Using organic, wildlife-friendly and sustainable food growing techniques, you’ll teach people food growing skills and run food growing activities with the local community. You’ll also help local schools and community groups to set up and run their food growing projects, as well as teaching people how to cook affordable, healthy meals from scratch.
We're looking for a motivated and community-minded person who enjoys engaging with local people to help shape a more sustainable and inclusive Hyndburn. If you have a passion for community food growing and want to inspire others to grow their own fruit and vegetables, we want to hear from you!
The deadline for applications is 5pm on Monday 30th November 2026. Interviews will be held in Accrington, Lancashire on Monday 7th December 2026.
