An exciting opportunity has become available within Kew's School of Botanical Horticulture. This is a key role within the School of Botanical Horticulture team (Gardens Directorate). The School of Botanical Horticulture plans and delivers the Kew Diploma in Botanical Horticulture, the world’s premier horticultural qualification; along with other horticultural education and training programs including, Kew Specialist Certificates, Apprenticeships, Introduction to Horticulture and Kew Modular Certificates.

The post holder is required to develop strong working relationships with staff, students and apprentices and visiting lecturers at all levels across the organisation. Key tasks include:

  • Quality improvement of Kew’s horticulture training offer, development of new courses and new ways of learning; evaluation of teaching quality and learning outcomes
  • Support the day-to-day running and organisation of the School of Botanical Horticulture, providing technician support
  • Run aspects of the Kew Diploma, such as plant idents, vegetable plot project, and dissertation support
  • Liaise with horticulture teams to ensure learning quality outcomes and pastoral care
  • Take students on day visits and field trips in the UK and overseas
  • Manage the Modular courses
  • Act as a point of contact to support students and apprentices wellbeing
