We are now looking for a Solicitor to provide specialist advice and representation on employment law and provide representation in employment tribunal cases. This role is offered on a fixed term basis due to maternity leave within the team. The role is based in our London office and is part of our Legal Department. The successful candidate will report to the General Counsel and Head of Legal. They will advise officers, representatives and the wider membership on complex legal issues, relating to individual and collective employment law; run employment tribunal cases; contribute to policy development and develop and deliver training.
- Qualified solicitor with at least 3 years’ post qualification experience.
- Specialist knowledge of employment law and an ability to manage and advise on complex case work.
- Experience of handling Employment Tribunal cases.
- Ability to analyse and evaluate legal information and disseminate accordingly.
- Experience of working proactively, self-managing time and workload.
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, representatives, members, employers, and wider stakeholders.
- Have strong planning, organising, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Wants to make the world of work better for everyone through promoting membership and the values of the trade union movement.
- Good IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office/365 suite, Outlook and Teams.
