Position: Health Care Assistant (HCA) – 3 days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Friday) 8:00 am‑4:30 pm.

Main Duties

  • Conduct daily audits of clinical rooms, fridges, emergency trolley, oxygen cylinders and the defibrillator, with recurring audits at the end of each clinic.
  • Perform basic clinical tasks: take bloods, perform BP checks, ECGs, chronic disease management and provide basic dressings.
  • Assist with monthly stock checks when required and document all activities in SystmOne.

Job Responsibilities

  • Respond to the general requirements of the practice and patients within the scope of the role.
  • Attend at least one clinical meeting per month (usually Thursday lunchtime) – either in person or online.
  • Enter all actions into the templates on the practice operating system (SystmOne); training provided for Ardens templates if needed.
  • Promote healthy lifestyle advice on diet, exercise, alcohol, smoking, and family history.

Person Specification

  • Experience: Experience working in a general practice is preferred but not essential; experience at a GP Practice is also relevant.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Ability to work as part of a team, friendly approach, essential skills: taking bloods, BP checks; use of SystmOne essential; training offered for Ardens templates.
