The Practice
Rackheath Vets is a growing independent practice with spacious, well-equipped facilities, located on the outskirts of Norwich. The practice currently has three veterinarians and is looking to expand its team with up to 4 or 5 permanent vets to meet growing demand. The clinic features 3 consultation rooms, a nurse consultation room, separate kennels and cattery, isolation kennels, a well-equipped lab, prep area, separate dental and imaging suites, and an operating theatre. We also have a DR X-ray machine, a dental X-ray, and an orthopaedic setup. Our team is friendly, relaxed, and committed to providing excellent care to our varied caseload, including exotics and small animals.
Why this Vacancy Exists
Due to growth, they are looking to add another permanent vet to the team. They currently have 3 vets on staff, and this is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and expanding practice. The vacancy has been open for one month, and we are looking for the right candidate to fill this position.
The Role
They are looking for a small animal vet with experience ranging from new graduate to senior vet level. There will be plenty of support for a new graduate, while senior vets can bring their expertise to the team. The role involves a variety of responsibilities, including:
– Surgery: Orthopaedics, lump removals, dental work, and scanning.
– Consultations: Varied small animal cases, with a focus on high-quality care.
– Working Hours: Monday to Friday (8 am -5 pm), with flexibility. One late shift (9 am – 6:30 pm) per week. Saturday mornings (1 in 4) from 8:30 am – 12:30 pm. No out-of-hours rota.
– Sole Charge: Saturday mornings and late shifts (5:30 pm – 6:30 pm).
The practice maintains a great work-life balance, with a focus on providing excellent care while keeping a manageable schedule.
