Prospect Health is proud to be working on behalf of a thriving, independently owned small animal practice in Southport that is seeking a confident and proactive Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly and progressive team. This is an excellent opportunity for a vet who enjoys working up medical cases, values clinical freedom, and thrives in a supportive, collaborative environment where your voice is heard and your ideas matter.

The Opportunity:

  • Step into an established role due to relocation, with a loyal and growing client base of over 4,500 registered clients
  • Enjoy the autonomy and support that comes with working in a truly independent practice led by an RVN who understands the day-to-day challenges of clinical life
  • Benefit from structured surgical and consulting blocks, with time built in for catch-ups and emergency appointments
  • Become part of a team that values open communication and continual improvement, with regular team meetings to share feedback and ideas

Role Details:

  • Salary up to £65,000, dependent on experience
  • 40-hour full-time working week
  • 1 in 4 weekend rota (no routine surgeries at weekends)
  • Generous holiday entitlement
  • No out-of-hours work
  • CPD actively encouraged and funded (certificates supported on a case-by-case basis)

What We're Looking For:

  • A confident Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys working up medical cases and is comfortable with a range of surgeries
  • Someone confident in sole charge when required
  • A proactive team player keen to help shape and grow the practice

The Practice:

  • 2 Vets, including a recently qualified but capable team member
  • Supportive RVN owner and 2 additional full-time RVNs
  • 3 Student Nurses and 4 Client Care Advisors
  • Modern facilities including digital X-ray, new ultrasound, multiparameter monitoring, and more
  • A growing, well-supported team with a strong focus on client care and team wellbeing
