An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Optometrist to join a well-established group of independent optical practices operating across Dorset and Somerset, with a rich history dating back to 1926. This role is based primarily in Chard, with occasional time spent in a larger sister practice in Yeovil. Both locations offer a welcoming, well-equipped environment, run by a team committed to providing high-quality, patient-centred eye care.
About the Practices
With a long-standing reputation for clinical excellence and continuity of care, this family-run group consists of 12 independent practices, employing nearly 100 people. Their team culture is built on mutual respect, collaboration, and a genuine commitment to both professional development and patient care. Many team members have been with the group for over a decade, a testament to the supportive and fulfilling work environment. The Chard practice, fully refurbished in 2019, is spacious, air-conditioned, and fitted with modern equipment, including Optomap retinal imaging, Revo OCT, and the latest Henson visual field analyzer. The wider team includes IP-qualified Optometrists, specialist contact lens fitters, and trained orthoptists, offering a great opportunity to collaborate and learn from colleagues with specialist interests.
