Experienced Vet Surgeon Required For Busy Independent Practice In Buckingham. If you became a vet to enjoy great clinical freedom, build lasting client relationships and work within a genuinely supportive team, this could be exactly the role you've been waiting for.
We're representing a well-established independent veterinary group in Buckinghamshire that is continuing to grow following the successful expansion into a second site. With a loyal client base, an excellent local reputation and a collaborative team culture, this is a practice where vets are trusted, supported and encouraged to enjoy their work. The team currently includes 9 vets, 8 nurses and a dedicated client care team, creating a busy but highly supportive environment where cases are worked up properly and clinical standards remain high.
The practice has particular strengths in medicine, surgery and ophthalmology, with an interesting caseload that also includes orthopaedics and more advanced surgical work. Modern equipment, including laparoscopic facilities and upgraded imaging capabilities, allows the team to provide an excellent level of care across a wide variety of cases. This is very much a practice that has retained the feel of an independent despite its growth. The leadership team is passionate about creating a positive working atmosphere where people genuinely enjoy coming to work. Development is actively encouraged, whether that's pursuing certificates, expanding surgical skills or simply becoming more confident in areas of personal interest. The practice is also recognised as an RCVS accredited training environment with advanced practitioners within the team.
The role itself offers an excellent work‑life balance, with a true 4‑day week, no out‑of‑hours and only 1 in 4 Saturday mornings. There's a balanced split between consulting and surgery, 15‑minute appointments and only occasional sole charge at weekends. You'll primarily be based at the main site, with occasional consult‑only days at the branch practice.
