Our client, an innovative company at the cutting edge of electric propulsion technology, requires a talented Manufacturing Quality Engineer to lead APQP activities on an urgent project.

This is a contract role outside IR35.
Responsibilities:
Evaluating manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, testing, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators
Supporting manufacturing demand by relieving bottlenecks and problem-solving production constraints; attending breakdowns and reacting efficiently to escalation from manufacturing teams
Developing manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors
Improve manufacturing efficiency by analysing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout
Conduct FAI (First Article Inspection) reports and customer-specific documentation (e.g. PPAP, APQP).
Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labour, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; xgikmsk estimating future requirements
Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends
Requirements:
- A degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent
- Experience working within an automotive or aerospace Tier 1 in a manufacturing environment
- Good understanding of continuous improvement methods and lean techniques
