My client, a British manufacturer of iconic vehicles, is recruiting a number of contract vehicle build technicians due to a busy build period. This contract is outside IR35. The Vehicle Build Technician will be responsible for the hands-on assembly and final build of my client’s iconic vehicles. Working as part of a skilled production team, you will be involved in all aspects of vehicle assembly, from trim and mechanical assembly to profiling, panel alignment, and interior trim fitting.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive vehicle preparation, assembly, and build, including trim and final assembly phases.
  • Execute both mechanical and electrical assembly tasks with precision.
  • Assemble components and sub-assemblies, building essential vehicle parts and systems from scratch.
  • Complete whole vehicle builds using a bay-build discipline, ensuring consistent quality and assembly standards.
  • Conduct profiling, panel alignment, and gapping to meet exacting standards of vehicle fit and finish.
  • Install part and full interior trim packages, enhancing the vehicle’s aesthetic and functional appeal.
  • Identify and log any build issues, suggesting improvements for engineering and production teams.
  • Interpret engineering drawings accurately to guide assembly and ensure quality control.
  • Utilise a variety of handheld tools for assembly work and ensure the handling of precision components.
