Our client, an innovative company at the cutting edge of electric propulsion technology, requires a talented Tooling Manufacturing Engineer to join its dynamic team. This is a contract role outside IR35.
Responsibilities:
- Provide tooling design support & DFM/A input
- Define tooling requirements alongside manufacturing method
- Design and validate production tooling and fixtures
- Produce complete tooling documentation & lifecycle controls
- Support prototype builds, tooling commissioning and process improvement
Requirements:
- Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent qualifications and experience
- Significant and demonstrable experience in the design and development of production tooling within an aerospace or automotive environment
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and their limitations
- Experience using CAD software: Solidworks/NX/Catia
- Experience of PFMEA and Control Plan development leading to robust process development
- Knowledge of equipment maintenance requirements and scheduling
- Experience in completing risk assessments and ergonomic assessments
- Ability to support and plan for future opportunities/volumes, while having the ability to manage day-to-day activities
