Our client, an innovative company at the cutting edge of electric propulsion technology, requires a talented Tooling Manufacturing Engineer to join its dynamic team. This is a contract role outside IR35.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide tooling design support & DFM/A input
  • Define tooling requirements alongside manufacturing method
  • Design and validate production tooling and fixtures
  • Produce complete tooling documentation & lifecycle controls
  • Support prototype builds, tooling commissioning and process improvement

Requirements:

  • Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent qualifications and experience
  • Significant and demonstrable experience in the design and development of production tooling within an aerospace or automotive environment
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and their limitations
  • Experience using CAD software: Solidworks/NX/Catia
  • Experience of PFMEA and Control Plan development leading to robust process development
  • Knowledge of equipment maintenance requirements and scheduling
  • Experience in completing risk assessments and ergonomic assessments
  • Ability to support and plan for future opportunities/volumes, while having the ability to manage day-to-day activities
