My client, an innovative company at the cutting edge of electric propulsion technology, requires a talented Manufacturing Engineer to join its dynamic team. The Manufacturing Engineer will validate and continuously improve manufacturing processes that meet SQDC targets and support production readiness.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning, specifying, and implementing manufacturing facilities and processes for assembly and testing
  • Leading equipment specification, procurement, and commissioning activities
  • Attending Design Reviews and providing insights into manufacturing feasibility of new product designs
  • Creating and managing MBOMs, process flows, routings, work instructions, and other technical documentation using digital tools to ensure accuracy and accessibility
  • Supporting engineering trials, first builds, and line changes, working closely with production, quality, and planning teams to resolve constraints and ensure smooth transitions
  • Collaborating with Tooling Engineers and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and validation of production tooling
  • Carrying out assessments of manufacturing processes and equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational risk mitigation
  • Executing advanced quality planning activities such as PFMEA and Control Plans, Virtual Builds and Production Readiness Reviews, and validating processes using data-driven methods
  • Supporting FRACAS investigations by applying structured problem-solving techniques to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Contributing accurate manufacturing cost estimates and feasibility assessments to support programmes in the initial proposal phases

Requirements:

  • A degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering and proven experience as a Manufacturing Engineer in the automotive or aerospace sectors
  • Proven experience in process design and optimisation
  • Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles and how to apply them in the early stages of product development
  • Competent use of ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP) and PLM tools
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills
  • Ability to travel if required
